Braids, twists & locs (extensions)
1) keep your scalp moist with light oils or grease.
Light oils or grease prevents build up of products on hair while maintaining moisture retention.
Use natural moisturising products that is safe and kind for healthier looking scalp and hair. Natural products prevents skin irritations likely to occur due to certain chemical substances skin might be allergic to.
2) Use foaming mouse twice a week to reduce fly aways and keep hair neat and refreshed.
3) Use this night time routine for bedtime: wear silk scarf or bonnet. Own a silk pillow case. Using silk materials on your hair prevents it getting frizzy and dehydrated.
4) Keep your braids NOT longer than 8 weeks maximum to give hair a break for at least a week before your next appointment. This is to maintain health of scalp and hair.

Natural locs, braids & twists
Moisturise with lightweight water based products.
This improves blood flow to scalp and prevent split ends. Robusting locs/twist/ braids and faster growth.
Use foam mouse twice a week to reduce fly-always and keep hair refreshed.
Loc retwist should be washed and re-twisted every 4 weeks minimum or 6 weeks maximum for matured locs, and 2weeks maximum for starter locs.

Locs should be detoxified every 6 months for locs to be deeply cleaned and break up any build up.

Coloured hair (wigs)
Colorful wigs require extra care for long-lasting, tangle-free hair.
follow expert tips:
1) Wash your colorful human hair wigs less frequently.
Regular washing makes the colour and quality of the hair fade quicker. Washing human coloured wigs should take place atleast every 6-8 weeks or 7- 10 depending on how often the wig is worn and how much products is used on colored hair.
2) Stripping off of wig strands and dyes occurs due to products containing sulfate.
Try use coloured Protected sulfate-free products, to keep colour vibrant and hair not from being being dry.
3) Condition condition & condition!
Coloured wigs has shorter lifespan due to being bleached and dyed compared to non-coloured wigs. To maintain quality, ensure to use colour protected conditioners. Deep condition with a steamer once a month and apply generous amount of leave in conditioner daily.
4) Wash wigs with cool water.
Wash wigs with cool/warm water to allow shampoo to penetrate and cleanse, then rinse with cold water after conditioning to seal moisture and colour, as to prevent fading and seal hair cuticles.
5) Use colour safe dry shampoo sprays.
For the wig lover girlies that wear that wigs more frequently. This is a necessary tip for your coloured wigs to last longer. This product refreshes the hair and makes it like it just got washed and blowed out without even washing the hair! You can also use any colour-tinted shampoo to revamp the colour, making your coloured human wig last longer.
Coloured natural hair
1) heat protection
Ingredients in heat protection reduces heat damage. However heat damage can still occur depending on individual’s hair and how often it is being heated. Use heat protection sprays or moisturiser and minimise heated styles.
2) Use filters
UV rays from the sun break down the chemical bonds in dyes causing the hair colour to fade quicker. To avoid UV rays from the sun light even during the winter, add UV filter sprays to finish up your morning hair routine.
3) Eat foods contains omega fats.
Maintain a diet that includes salmon, sardines and mackerel that will nourish your hair with omega 3 fatty acids, making it shiny and strong. Eat nuts such as peanut, walnuts, sunflower seeds, hazelnuts for vitamin E to combat dry brittle hair. ( please do not attempt if you have any allergic reactions to these foods)
4) condition condition & condition!
Coloured hair are more fragile. Colour protected Conditioning oils, and moisturisers forms a protective barrier which prevents colour pigments that cling to your hair strands from escaping due to melanin being gone from bleach and now exposed. Conditioning oils is important as to it creates a protective barrier that maintains hair structure and prevent hair from getting brittle and breaking.
5) pick the right shampoo and conditioner
Use colour protecting products that actually work to protect your hair and colour and keep it looking shiny healthy and vibrant. What ever you use make sure it is sulphate free or low in sulphate to wash out less flour from your hair.
Wigs (human hair)
1) Use frizz fighting and straightening shampoo and conditioners to keep hair smooth and silk.
2) Use silk bonnets, wig bands and shower cap. Silk bonnet or scarf should be used for bed time. Shower caps and wig bands should be worn during showers to cover installed wig in other to prevent lace from lifting.
3) For curly wigs use leave-in conditioner spray and detangling brush to refresh curls.
4) Use light oils. Light moisturising oils smoothies the hair strands for human hair wigs to prevent frizz and breakage.
5)Use specific Brushes.
For straight wigs use large paddle brushes with prongs and small bubbles at the end. This prevents hair from pulling out, protecting the hair strands. ( found in drugstores or online)
For curly wigs, use a flexible vent detangling brush. The bristles glide through curly taking out knots more effectively without causing breakage, maintaining hair thickness and elasticity. (Found in drugstores or online)
How to brush:
* Always start by brushing your wig from the bottom making your way upwards. This helps prevent hair pulling out and takes out knots faster.
* Curly hair is easily detangled when it is wet. If your wig is wet, your conditioning product will penetrate into the hair strands more effectively, making it simpler for you to comb or brush your through any hair knots that get in the way.
To fix lifting lace closure:
* Dap a bit of spiking glue around the perimeter of your hairline under the lace using your finger to rub into the scalp. ( water resistant spiking glue are recommended for stronger hold, ghost bonding glue is best but should be left for professionals and applied only once as it is very strong) this will keep the lace from lifting. ( found in drugstores or online)
* Add holding spray when the glue feels tacky after some seconds. Let it dry enough to feel tacky. It allows hair to move around. ( found in drugstores or online)
* Apply pressure using using hands to press the lace into the skin near the hairline. Use a silk scarf or wig band to keep it in place. Use blow dry for faster dry (optional). Take scarf off once dried.
* Use edge control or mouse to lay edges down edges (if any). Apply spritz spray around lace( ensure to pick a product that dries clear) Proceed by using a wax stick to lay fly-always from the top parting moving down wards, then a hot comb to lay wig flat.
* Finish up with an oil Sheen spray around edges and hair.
* Use a wig remover oil. Apply a generous amount on lace when it is due to be taken off. Once absorbed into skin and lace feels unattached to skin proceed by gradually pulling lace off with your fingers. Repeat the same procedure to take off wig cap from scalp.
*Lace wig should last up to 4 weeks, after which should be taken off. Do not leave a lace wig on for more than 6 weeks as the glue may damage your hair and scalp.

Sleek styles
1) Use silk scarf to wrap around perimeter of gelled surface for bed time, to keep hair in place. During shower use a shower cap to protect against shrinkage.
2) Create a daily routine below to maintain sleekness.
* Apply styling gel or glue spray to lay fly aways and remove white appearance on hair.
* Use scarf to wrap over the gelled surface, use blow dry for faster drying (optional). This keeps hair intact.
* While hair is drying under scarf, apply heat protector oil on hair straight hair extension and start to straighten hair with a flat iron and brush going in a downward motion. To keep hair straight and tidy.
For curly extensions apply water conditioner spray and brush from down working your way upwards.. To refresh the curl pattern and keep it bouncy.
* Finish up with Sheen oil spray to around the sleek surface and extensions. This will give it a refreshed and shiny look.
* Sleek styles can last up to 2 weeks maximum when listed maintenance is carried out appropriately.
Weave saw in’s
* Wear silk bonnet or scarf for bed time, and shower caps for bath time.
* Use hair wax sick and hot comb to lay flat leave out once a week when necessary. Ensure to use heat protector spray on leave out before applying heat. ( keep heat at minimum )
* Use a brush and straightener to keep hair straight. For curly hair apply detangling conditioning spray, then brush from downwards working your way upwards. Apply sheen spray to keep it looking shiny.
* Keep your leave out moisturised with light strengthening oils.
* Sew-in’s can last up to 12 weeks maximum when maintained appropriately as listed above. After which should be taken off.
